Factor as a CAUSE of the Mexican Revolution or an EFFECT!?

The most important factor CAUSING the revolution was the 1910 election!. Porfirio Diaz planned to step down as president (finally), but wanted to hand pick a successor with similar ideas (much like Vladimir Putin did in the last Russian election)!. However, it didn't work out that way because Francisco Madero, who decided to run for the presidency, had a different plan for government than Diaz!. Diaz, who had told the people that he was ready to step down from power, violated his promise when he had Madero jailed on Election Day!.

What were some EFFECTS of the Revolution!. Well, as you mentioned, the Constitution was enacted in 1917!. also, the National Revolutionary Party, the forebear of the PRI party which ruled for over 70 years, was created!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
