Hi,

James I (of England & VI of Scotland) was:

Born 19 June 1566(1566-06-19) at Edinburgh Castle
Son of Mary Queen of Scots & her 2nd husband, Lord Darnley
Crowned King of Scotland aged 1 year old following his mother's forced abdication
1st king to untie England & Scotland under one rule
1st Stuart monarch
Responsible for the creation of the King James Bible
Target of the Gunpowder Plot in 1605
Married Anne of Denmark & had 7 children (3 of whom survived infancy)
- Henry, Prince of Wales (died aged 18)
- Elizabeth (later Queen of Bohemia)
- Charles (later Charles I)
Had the nickname "the wisest fool in Christendom"
Strongly anti-tobacco & fascinated by witchcraft - subject to at least one failed witchcraft plot (involving the melting of a wax effigy)
Died March 27, 1625 at Theobalds House aged 58 leaving the throne to his son, Charles I

He also never washed his hands - he only rubbed his fingertips with a moist napkin
As a child his nurse was a drunk and he grew up with a few of her characteristics!.
His tongue was supposedly too big for his mouth causing his drink to spill out from either size of his mouth

Hope this helps!.

First King to unite the rule of Scotland and England!.
First Presbyterian to rule England!.
Changed the rule from "heroic" under Elizabeth to a less visible, less personal rule!. His son's pursuit of a Catholic princess was also a big issue, with his being head of the Church of England!.
