It wasn't what he did when he was President, it was what he did when he RESIGNED!.

The people of the United States wanted him to stay in the presidency for a second term; however, Washington refused in his Farewell Address!.Washington's Farewell Address is a HUGE turning point in United States history!. THINK ABOUT IT: the entire country was practically begging him to continue being the nation's leader, and he REFUSED!. It was definitely a huge struggle for him, a leader in the Revolutionary War as well as the first President of the U!.S!., to turn down such power that he could so easily take with a simple "yes!." But he said "no!." And it changed history!.

Washington's ultimate motive for refusing another term as President was to establish a new start for the "new' United States (remember that before the Revolution, Great Britain imperialized the pre-U!.S!. and the age of salutary neglect and a monarchy was too much for the colonies!.)!. By refusing an additional term, he also pushed away the monarchy government that did not work before Revolutionary victory!.

In his Farewell Address, he stated the following:

2!.) Bipartisanship: no political parties

Amee passed a test!? And said Washington Resigned!. Get real!. He did not run for office a third time!. Only one President resigned: Richard Nixon!.

He was an aristocrat and it was difficult for him to talk to people!. He had only a couple of Generals he could trust in the War!. He was not a Warrior like th English Generals were!. His army struggled by not getting the support of congress and many of the local people!.
His main weakness was no military experience and a lack of trained troops!.

i dont see why schools are making us do reports about these guys, i know they made a HUGE!!!! impact in our world today but their the past and theres nothing we can do!. i repect them even though there deasd but lets face it it's pointless doing this cause theres nothing we can do!. and if anyone one of you who replays to this messge is GAY!!
