The first answer is good, but lacks details!. Christian doctrine was imposed by Constantine the Great in his empire, so you can say that it was not only the reason used, but also the military force!. But to say that it take over an entire civilization, especially the Greek one is wrong!. In the first place, Greek civilization was incorporated in Roman civilization!. Then, the Roman civilization is not the same thing with religious doctrines, since religion is a part of civilization!. Christianity changed the way people believed and created and the human relations in that time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ancient Greece refers to a time period before Christianity!. The Byzantine period is not considered ancient!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It did via the Christianization of the Roman Empire, which lived on in "Greece" as the Byzantine Empire!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
