St Christopher is the patron saint of travellers and was martyred in the 3rd century during the reign of the Roman Emperor Decius!. Nothing is known of him or his life although there are several legends attributed to him including the story where a child asked to be carried across a river!. St Christopher found the child to be unbearably heavy and according to legend the child was Christ carrying the burden of the world!. This is why he is the patron saint of travellers and is also invoked against storms and plagues!.His name means christbearer!. Hope this helps!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
