Question: Why did new england and the chesapeake evolve into 2 different socities in the 1700's!?
although New England and the Chesapeake Region were both settled largley by the people of English origin, by 1700 the regions had devolved into two distinct societies!. Why did this difference in development occur!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

They didn't evolve into different societies, they always were separate!.

Chesapeake was more of a cash cow in agriculture with rich English coming over with indentured servants!.

New England was more of a mixture with French in Maine and Northern New York, and Dutch in NY, CT, and NJ!. also, N!.E!. was more of religious outcasts, not cash makers, or tobacco farmers!.
