Canada was very much still part of the British Empire during the Great War, as the 'Dominion of Canada' the war affected Canada very little on its home soil except for perhaps the loss of the male gender to enlistments!.
The Second World War however played a very different role for Canadian home soil, RAF crews trained expensively on Canadian Soil and many evacuated children settled in Canada, after the loss of North Africa the British government adopted area's around Medicine Hat in SE Alberta for training with long range artillery and armour upto Brigade strength!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
