Can anyone tell me what the significance of the small number 5 or 6 enclosed in a circle on the title page is please!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

The first responder is close to it!. But it's more than just the highest to lowest note!. I'd have to look at it to be sure, but it's probably a sight-reading aid!.

If one is good at sight-reading all that's needed is the tonic tone or the pitch that the key is in!. Then, 5 would be 5 notes up from that!. Vocal site-readers, once they lock onto that tonic pitch (the main note of the key) can then sing the notes without reading the music, if desired!.

It could also refer to a chord in a chordal progression!. You'd have to either list a link or cut and paste the music into a !.gif or list the order of all the numbers for me to tell you if it's a cord progression which I don't think it is!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
