1!. Mesopotamia is geographically a flat plain!. Invaders from all directions but underground could just march in!.

2!. The invaders usually held higher power than the vanquished!. Some locals may have had power, but they were puppets of the upper class!.

3!. At first, the Sumerians were city-states!. The Babylonians came into the south and started a strong empire!. The Babylonians also translated Sumerian texts into Babylonian and both sides were at peace!. Then the Assyrians invaded and plundered everything!. However, they also respected their shared religious values!. The Sumerian culture eventually died out as the Persians invaded!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

lol!. we are just learning this in social studies!. I think they had so many invasions because the city was in such a perfect spot for growing stuff that neighboring civilizations wanted it too!. I wish i had my s!.s!. book with me, theres a whole chapter all about it!Www@QuestionHome@Com
