I don't think there's any question of our power, I think the question is whether we will use it responsibly, and that doesn't seem to be the case!. I think that's pretty much the global view!. There's also the question of using the full force of our military to beat up on a much much smaller nation!.

The US was generally recognized as the world's sole remaining superpower at the dawn of the new millenium!. But America's real power and its future in this position would soon be called into question by, among other factors and events, China's rapid ascendance, Sept!. 11 and America's inability to bring the organizers to justice, the bungled war in Iraq, and the federal government's mismanagement of the response to Hurricane Katrina!.
