Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Try Googling Poles or Polish, not "Poloc"!.

"In addition to about three million Polish Jews (mostly killed in Operation Reinhard), 2!.5 million non-Jewish Polish citizens perished during the course of the war!. Over two million were ethnic Poles (the remaining 500,000 were mainly ethnic minority Ukrainians and Belarussians living in Poland)!. The majority of those killed by Nazi Germany were civilians (exceeding military deaths nearly 10:1)"

In the invasion of Poland:
"The Polish casualties were around 66,000 dead and 694,000 captured!. "

Polish soldiers serving with Allied forces:
"Until July 1945, when recruitment was halted, some 26,830 Polish soldiers were declared KIA or MIA or had died of wounds!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Poles proved to be quite useful to the Allied war effort!. One good avenue of their efforts was in the war against Rommel!. The Italians had to leave Libya in a hurry, it was too difficult to bring all their war materiel home, so they left many tanks behind!. The Brits and Yankees couldn't figure out to run them, but lo and behold the Poles, because they were familiar with METRIC, could learn how to run them quickly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Probably because Polok is a derogatory term for Poles!. Try using non-racist terminology it's amazing what you can come up with!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
