if they could convert the natives to Christianity they figured there would be less chance of revolt!. it basically worked except for a few isolated incidents!. and one big one with the Incas!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Spain, a completely Catholic dominated country sent members of the Jesuit Order with every military expedition to the new World!. The Spanish were seeking Gold and riches more than attempting to establish Spanish colonies thru conquest!.
