Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Motives:
South was looking for a way to make a living in growing their crops, and also wanted a different way of life!. However, the New Englanders wanted to stay true to their religion!.
South had better land for growing crops and their education was not important, but the female to male ratio was 1:6!. In NE, there was a pretty balanced amount of males and females, they had better lives, and education was highly important-one could study the bible better!.

Religious:
The Baptist religion was developed in the south!.

Social orientations:
Slaves made up 90% of the population in the south, so very few classes!. You were either a farmer, or a farmer!.
