Do you have the exact quote, and source!? I'd assume he'a talking about 3 shillings and sixpence a week, British coinage!. The main unit was the pound, 20 shillings to the pound, and 12 pence to the shilling back then!. they also had the half-penny as coinage!. British currency didn't go to the decimal system (100 pence to the pound) until the 1970s!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
