Question: Eisenhower after Kennedy assasination!?
Any one remember what former president Eisenhower said following the assasination of President Kennedy!? Strangely, in the hours folloing the death of JFK, prominent people made their way to Washington, DC!., the heart of the US government!. President Eisenhower was stopped by the media when he stepped off an airplane!. "The American people have never panicked before, and they're not going to panic now," Eisenhower said!. Like everyone else who remembers that terrible time, I was terribly distraught!. But I took Eisenhower's words personally -- if Eisenhower said the American people were not going to panic!. I was not going to panic!. Does anyone else remember Eisenhower's words!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

He said something like that - born most likely in his years as Commander of the Allied Forces!. If he didn't panic then - he wasn't going to panic now - and he didn't want US to panic!.
Had we - our Republic would have been in serious danger!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The one big thing I remember about Eisenhower he was the one who approved the flight's of the U - 2 over Russia and when one of them was shot down got the cold war cranked up big time!.

Can you imagine how we would of felt if the Russians had sent a spy plain over our country!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
