Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: In the beginning of the Pamphlet Paine talks about "customs!." I'm not positive in this but he may be referring to traditions or in a sense false traditions!. He states "a long Habit of not thinking a Thing wrong, gives it a superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defence of Custom!." He might be saying that many times that traditions are upheld just because they are traditions!. A cry to protect the traditions may arise just because of past experiences!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
