Ancient Britons were Celts, so they were between 180-185 cm (I mean the males)!. The average Roman legionnaires were 170 cm tall!. Gauls were Celts too!. Early Germans were separate people the ancestors of English, Germans, etc!.!. they were tall too!.

*But under campaign Romans were well organized, there were banned the meat and the alcohol!. Celts went in war under the influence of alcohol,Www@QuestionHome@Com

Statistically speaking an "average" is a skewed number!. The "median" height would be a more reliable indicator of most peoples' height!. While there were some ancient Britons almost seven feet tall most were around 4'8"" to 5'0" tall (132 to 152 cm)!. Around the year 1800, the average height of native-born Americans was 5'6", whereas the average European immigrant was slightly shorter; by 1944 the average American soldier was 5'6"!. Today the average 40-seomthing year-old Japanese man is 5'6" tall!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
