Question: What was the average height of a roman legionnaire!?
i heard that it was like 5'4" or somethin like that!. If you could include the average weight too that would be great!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Five feet four was actually quite tall for a Roman; round about the five foot mark was average!. Cavalry soldiers needed to be far taller because they needed long legs to be able to hold onto the horse as stirrups weren't invented!.
Weight!? Well, probably the same kind of weight as a modern well muscled man of the same height would have; Roman soldiers in the peak of fitness wouldn't have had a spare ounce on them!.
The Celtic warriors they fought were often far taller than the Romans; five ten wasn't unusual, and with hair spiked with lime and so on they looked big and scary!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
