Question: What did Malcolm X mean by "chickens coming home to roost"!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
He meant what goes around comes around!.

He said it after President Kennedy was assassinated!. He was implying that since the white man had used violence so often and so easily, it was just cosmic balance that the President would become a victim of violence!. Of course, Malcolm X was shot by his own fellow Black Muslims so there is irony in there somewhere!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is an old expression that means, essentially, things that individuals or groups do sometimes come back to haunt them!.

In childhood, I heard the expression "lies come home to roost," meaning that a lie will often be uncovered and the liar exposed!.

I think, in the context Malcolm X was using the expression, it was referring to the injustices that many blacks suffered because of segregationist laws and just simple prejudice on the part of many whites!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
