Question: Why did early American Colonists circa 1760-1770s, Rebel against England and King George III!?
What were the main reasons and if you can explain the reasons with a couple sentences about the reasoning that would be great! I know there are a few reasons that contributed to the rebellion against England, but what were the main reasons, and again, if you can explain with a few sentences about the reasoning that would be great! THANKS!Www@QuestionHome@Com

There'd been no form of emigration control to the colonies and so the coastal communities were becoming increasingly over crowded!. Those in the colonies needed more land, they pushed westward into the Ohio River Valley (which was owned by the French and the Native Indians) and also into Canada, again, owned by the French!.

The colonies had begged for the French and Indian / Seven Year's War, hoping to remove the French from the continent and when the bill came due for that costly war, the colonists refused to pay!.

By the time of the revolution, the birth rate in the colonies was four times that of England and their ability to make money (Gross Domestic Product) had well surpassed that of England too!. In fact instead of England financially supporting its colonies, the colonies were now supporting England!.

Those in the colonies (knowing this) felt it only right that they should no longer have to answer to Parliament and instead insisted that they have an equal audience (if not greater than that of Parliament) with the crown!. They also wanted a representative local government instead of the House of Burgesses which represented the crown, not the people!. All of these things were denied them and in their place, they were levied with more taxes!. Prior to this, those in the colonies had always viewed themselves as being loyal subjects of the crown, they were in a word, British!.

Sorry this is more than just a couple of sentences, as you'd requested, but to simply state "Taxation without representation" would allow you no room for understanding!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well it all really boils down to "no taxation without representation",the colonist were angry about the taxes leveled on them without there vote in Parliament, boston tea party, then the intolerable acts were passed and they decided that rebellion would be a sound fight!. and to be fair they really didn't think they would fight in concord it was the shot herd round the world a mystery that started it all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
