I think the civilaztion of Egypt had a greater impact on human development because they made great advances in medicine, preservation, and science!. They also used many techniques in building that influenced other cultures like the Greeks and Romans!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think Egypt had a greater influence on western civilisation, because they influenced the Greeks, who influenced the Romans, etc etc!.

Their civilisation is certainly more attractive than Mesopotamian civilisation, and the images of Egyptian art, architecture etc which you see everywhere shows that Egyptian culture is still an influence on modern civilisation!. They created so much of beauty, and Mesopotamia really has nothing that compares to it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I believe it were the Mesopotamians, they created the first alphabet or writting system (cuneiform), they had the code of Hammurabi (first f laws ever), the first literary work “the Epic of Gilgamesh”

There is a book called “History Begins at Sumer: Thirty-Nine Firsts in Recorded History” by Samuel Noah Kramer that can tell why Mesopotamians were the firsts so many things!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i'd say they both had about equal impact!. but Egypt gave us our western alphabet ; it directly influenced Greek art , and thus Western art!. Mesopotamia had greater influence on the Middle East!. it's influence on the West was mostly indirect!. but then you have the Genesis story!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
