He's a hero!. He personally did no killing, raping, or deceiving, his crew did!. And many of the creul things his crew did were already being done by sinister Native American tribes like the Aztecs or "mexica"s as their sometimes reffered to as!. He was arrested and undermined by the Spanish govt!. in his later days due to economic issues of not paying the govt!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

He was a hero to his sponsors (Ferdinand & Isabella) because he bolstered their failing finances and claimed new land for Spain!.

He was a villain to the natives to whom he brought disease, who land and wealth he stole, who he mistreated and murdered!.

Ask any native american!. Columbus and his crew introduced a lot of diseases to the new world that the native americans had no natural defences for!. also he opened the floodgates to millions of europeans that came and slaughtered the natives and stole thier land and nearly exterminated them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

First he wasn't even the first one to find the United States!. Plus he was actually a horrible man!. He beat his slaves and crewman and the day a man of the ship spotted the land Christopher Columbus took all the credit for it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
