13 to 19 and in Black and White
took forever to warm up -
and when you turned them off - had a little spot in the center

the early tvs had small screens but used vacuum tubes instead of all the circuitry we have today, meaning that the cabinet holding the electronics had to be huge~ a little bigger than the size of a washing machine today!. it may be hard to imagine for you, but a typical home radio in the 30's was only slightly smaller than this!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Screen diameters varied a great deal - as low as 7 inches to 21 inches for the 1958 RCA color set!. I think we had a 14 inch black and white then - mid 50's!. Three stations - ABC, NBC, CBS if you were lucky enough to be in a location where you could get all three by antenna!. No TV shows after ~11PM or midnight!. They would play the national anthem and go off the air!. At least that was my experience in small town Pennsylvania!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
