Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
In Classical Greece almost all food that was grown or harvested was consumed domestically!. Greece was a very insualar civilization in that anyone who wasn't Greek was regarded as barbaric, and very few diplomatic realtionships were established with foreign nations!.

The only Greeks to trade and communitate directly with foreigners were Merchants!. Greek merchants traded Greek Olive Oil and Wine for foreign products such as tin, amber, and animal furs!. Obviously, the important crops in regards to trade were Olives and Grapes; the olives for Olive Oil, and the Grapes for Wine!. Olive oil and wine were major exports for the Greeks, alongside pottery and wool, which they used in their trading throughout the Mediterranean!.

Hope this helps,
