If you're beginning then try something relatively well documented- maybe Julius Caesar or Leonidas!. then follow through the person, family, upbringing and career!. Feel his choices and try to think of the alternatives!. At least that's my idea!. Now I'm following Prince Eugene of Savoy in his battles against the Turks!. He briefly (but is quite informative) covers all the major points of history!. Your bound to find at least a few topics of interest!. His writing style is witty and eloquent, a great read!.
