People, in general, repeat themselves!. When there are major events occurring, being able to see things that happened in the past can help to prevent disasters in the future!. Knowing things like, Major power outages can cause riots, can help law enforcement agencies to be able to better protect against these things!. Without examples from history people may not be inclined to change a course of action that could negatively effect our world!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Despite the cliche, history does NOT repeat itself!. Each situation is unique, and you really can't apply solutions used in the past to the problems of the present or future!. You must look at what is going on NOW, and base your decisions on it!.

read the bidwell book on two levels!. on one level, learn about john bidwell and calfornia history during times in which foundations are laid
and which are filled with conflict and change!. there is much intresting
and vital material here to broaden your knowledge as a historian and which may will be useful in your future!. you should be consciously assessing essays and primary documents to this end!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
