Question: Where can i find out about the history of england!?
somebody told me all about when the saxons and vikings were in england and I was fascinated!. He explained why and where different ascents come from and about old traditions and laws that were around in them days!. we was also talking about the possibility that robin hood was in actual fact a real person and not a myth, there is a very high chance that he was real because of the way poor people (the uneducated) were treated!. and about when the English Royal line started when the Norman (Norse-men) invaded England in 1066 and we also talked about Oliver Cromwell!. I really was fascinated by everything he was telling me and as i am english I felt a real connection to it all!. It all seemed really familiar, like I was remembering it all again!.!. strange! anybody know any good sites that can help me learn everything there is to know about english history because I want to learn more!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are a many good sources:
- The BBC has a history sub-site with a lot of information, including some information on the original tribes when the Roman's invaded!. It also contains links to broadcasting!.
- If you are interested in English the language Bill Bryson's book is really interesting!.
- It's not easy to navigate but the Internet Medieval Sourcebook contains quite a number of excerpts from original sources and maps!.

You could try a history of Britain series before focusing in on a period of history!. There is also the history of Britain abroad, by the time of Cromwell the English already had a foothold in India, or at least the East India Company did!. As well as the beginnings of an the American colonies!.
