Here's how I remember centuries, take the 1st two numbers out of the date, and add 1 to it, and that's what century it is!.

Ex: take the 20 out of 2008, then add 1 to it it equals 21, and we are in the 21st century!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Think of centuries this way!. Write the year out to four digits then take the first two digits and add 1 to get the century!. So say you've got the year 88!. Write it out as 0088, then take 00 and add 1!. So you get 01, or the first century!. 767, make it 0767 then take 07 and add 1 to get 08, or the 8th century!. 1567, take 15 and add 1 to get 16, the 16th century!. 1904, take 19 and add 1 to bring it up to 20, the 20th century!.

Years are the nurmerical progression of the Earth's revolutions around the sun!. In otherwords, one revolution is the time it takes the Earth to orbit the sun just once!. Which we say is a year!. But centuries are always one ahead of the year!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
