I hate also the americans for their doings they the real dictators who claim the democraty the so called fake democraty !. Democraty for them is to do what they want and this is forbidden to others!. they wont be forever my favorite nation I hate them from the depth of my heart!. they must regret for the rest of their life if they even repented of what they did they are a cursed people!. I even hate the moment Christopher colombus discovered this land!. I think their still some people who feel regret and sorry for their countries fatal deeds!. the thing that really surprising me is that some balcks are mocking and encourage the war of america they must the first people who feel sorry for the other suffering nations from war but instead they they are encouraging war!. I dont know what to say May Allah bless us and help us to win victory over them !. I think they are a damned peopleWww@QuestionHome@Com

The genocide of the native peoples
>>> Genocide has to be a deliberate policy of the government or the society!. Native Americans died from European diseases at a time before people even knew bacteria and viruses existed!.

!.!.!.the slavery!.!.!.
>>> Are you suggesting the USA invented slavery!? By the way, slavery was abolished in the USA in 1863!.

the current imperialism
>>> The idea that self-defense against an attacker is bad is a Soviet concept intended to cause nations to surrender without a fight, like Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania!. In the Soviet view the victim is being imperialist when they resist, like Finland and Poland!. also true of Georgia today!.

!.!.!.!.the current military aggression
>>> See above!. We are at war with a fanatical movement that wants to kill everyone who is different from them!. The USA is defending YOU by fighting them!. If you don't like the idea then you should kidnap, torture, rape, & behead yourself and not wait for the fanatics to do it!.

!.!.!.pushing neo-liberal policys arounds the world!.
>>> It's very likely you would be speaking German, Japanese, or Russian if the USA hadn't been spending blood & treasure "pushing neo-liberal policys arounds the world"

America does not claim to be perfect or always right!. However, America does act for the good of all, and our policies & actions are much more often right than wrong!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Why should one individual person feel guilty for any policies of a government which back in the pre-20th century days not everyone even had the right to vote on!? The vast majority of countries with a history of more than a few hundred years will have committed acts of the type you detail in your question!. I personally would only feel guilty if I knew I personally voted for the politician who made such a decision and I supported what they did!. Feeling something is wrong is not the same as feeling guilty for it!.
To the person who says Europe is a cesspool - the vast majority of white Americans are European immigrants, so you are probably talking about your great-grandfathers!.
To the person who says Britain is ruled by a dictatorship and power is handed down in families - weren't two of your last 3 presidents called Bush!? Our PM is different each time, we vote based on policies not name!.
The Queen has absolutely zero power, we only keep a royal family as it gives the tourists something to look at!. Britain has one of the oldest democracies in the world for your information, most of the other countries in the west are modelled on ours!. And Ireland is already an independent country, as is Scotland!. They have their own laws and own taxes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is a bit of touchy question, as I think every country has some history which they are not particularly proud of!. I'm English, and some of the history of my country makes me ashamed to be quite honest!.

I don't agree with the comments about how Europe is a 'cesspool', as many of the American people's ancestors come from this 'cesspool' (just consider what language you speak in America- it isn't American- it's English), as Americans didn't just pop out of the ground!. So while people are making comments about other countries and their history, make sure you know where your ancestors were from, they could have been living in a different country altogether!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Slavery did not last nearly as long in America as it did in the UK which of course is who brought slavery to this country!. When the UK established Australia as a penal colony the native peoples of that land were treated just as native people of this land were!. The native peoples in Africa were slaughtered by the Brits during their conquests of those lands!. The UK is still a terrible imperialist, Ireland and Scotland should be completely free and independent countries but with the dictator queen on the throne that will never happen!.

I'm very proud of America, we select our leaders, they aren't given the throne because their daddy was king and it's a birth right!. Only a fool in this day and age would still see a monarchy as anything other than what it is, a dictatorship!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

As an Englishman i feel nothing but pride for my ancestors they took the world by the b-lls and shook it until it squealed , just like every conquer in the world and that just about names every country in the whole world , the only difference is that my people educated and bought civilisation to all off them !. America i cannot give an opinion but this i do know that they feel just as i do about there country , and no do goody PC is going to pin the shame label here!. if you are an Englishman i sugest you go and bury your shame on somebody elses shoulder not mine!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

"America does act for the good of all, and our policies & actions are much more often right than wrong"

Ha-Ha-Ha!! Thats make me laugh!. Every country want a better condition for his citizens!. Which is bad for me is good for you!. The US started economical wars in Iraq cause he need oil!. The US consuming 40% of the whole oil/year!. It's not bad or good!. Every powerful country make the same things!. (But I saw the other answers and yes, the US has the best PR in the world: "we save Europe in ww2" yes, from nazis and let them under Russians an there died more people than under nazis,or!.!.!.!.!.!.!.,)

They aren't guilty, but please don't be brainwashed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

First of all, you misuse the word "genocide" - check your dictionary!.
Although many native people died, it was not as a result of a deliberate policy to wipe them up!.

Secondly, why should people who are alive today be considered responsible for anything that was done by others in years gone by!?

as an American I like this question!. I have studied my family tree we are all immigrants who really didn bother much with killing Native Americans or slavery!.!.in fact I am part native american so somehwere down the line there was a European/Native American marriage!. Am I proud of the dark parts of our history!? No, I am not but every country if you look at its history has bad parts in it that is history my friend!. The thing is to learn from history and not have it repeat itself!.!.like having another Bush in office my personal oppinion of course!. I dont think any country is the best in the world there are great things and bad things every where you go!. Its best to focus on the good and not fear what we dont understand but to learn more about it by asking questions!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

My ancestors never owned slaves nor did they kill any "native people" so what reason is there for me to feel guilty about that!? It's ironic that someone from the UK would talk about American imperialism considering what your country has done, they also brought slavery here!.

I think you should study your own country's sordid past before criticizing the U!.S!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not sure they DO feel guilty about their history!. I do think, however, that a tiny minority, the more intelligent ones at least, feel guilty about knowing so little about their history compared to the rest of the world!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
