Question: What are those from Great Britain taught about the American Revolution!?

When I was living there, we were taught that is was a minor deal, brought about by an unstable government!. It was really not as big as the colonies make it to be!. The Americans did not actually win anything, The British Empire basically quit!. The commanders in the field, back then were the Howe brothers, Burgoen, and Cornwallis!. They were the best the King could put up and they were not really that capable!. The minister of Defense, Lork Germain, kept his hand in the mix too much and caused a lot of dissension among the people!. A lot like President Johnson and Robert MacNamara did to help lose things in Vietnam!. The The Kings's army had been depleted by the 7 years war on the continent!. So the King had to hire German Mercenaries, the Hessians!. We all know how well that worked out!.
The Revoultion was interesting but the only one that really mattered was the French!. For the first time in History, a sitting Monarch was overthrown!. The colonists never did accomplish that with George the IIIrd!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Umm we dont actually get taught about the American Revolution !.!. We get taught American history from like 1919-1970!.!.!. So that covers the wall street crash, the great depression, president hoover, Roosevelt and the new deal, And then all the presidents that played big roles from then on!. We also learn about American Civil rights and all of that!.!. I must say it is interesting ! lol Www@QuestionHome@Com
