Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
He kept his life!. So from that standpoint he was successful!.
He editted the Bible, which wasn't so cool!. But he did stop short of removing the passage from James that refutes his "Saved by Grace alone" (sola gratia) doctrine!.
He did translate the Bible into the German vernacular which was cool!.
He got the support of some very powerful monarchs and nobles, which was essential!.

Not all of his doctrines were sound, but he could at least defend them!. His only real shortcoming was that he didn't reform Catholicism as much as he caused schisms throughout Christianity!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

because of the abuse of church power!. Like forgiving peoples sins for money to rich men!. Once they bought their sins off , they could just go on sinning and pay again, also the general public could not read Latin which left the public in the real dark on the truth of the word of God!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Lex Luther!? He wasn't, Superman got the best of him!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
