2nd Lieutenant C!.H!. Upham, 20th Bn!. N!.Z!. Military Forces!. Maleme Crete 22nd-30th May 1941 and Ruweisat Ridge, Western Desert 14th-15th July 1942!.

Upham won the Victoria Cross twice during WWII!. The two other double recipients were non-combat and won the award several years apart!.

The Victoria Cross (VC) is awarded for multiple actions over a time period!. One brave deed isn't normally enough!. There was some argument that Upham had done enough to be awarded a third VC!.

I am not sure currently but I believe Audey Murphy was one if not the most decorated soldier of WWII!. Especially since he entered when he was 16 if I recall correctly!.
