The Europeans weren't just lazy,they were greedy hipocrites who used religion to "tame" the savages of the New World into a "proper" religion and make some money off of their labor as well!.
Look at it like this!. If a Spanish Conquistador had raped and impregnated an Indian girl,who would care!? He's far from home and has"needs"!. It's not like she's going to report him to his commanding officer!. If she has a boy,that boy will grow to be a man who will work the fields growing crops to earn money to pay his taxes to the Spanish Crown!.
If it's a girl!.she will grow up to be a woman and be someone elses' "wife for a night"!. Either way,he sees it as a win-win situation!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For centuries, Europeans lived in filthy surroundings filled with disease and violence!. They did not exhibit much intelligence at that time!. For example, throwing urine and crap into the streets instead of burying it as many other cultures had done in times past!. Drinking and ingesting various poisons!. And yet, they called Africans and Natives to America savages!? Riiiiiight!. They were more savage than anyone else as there history CLEARLY SHOWS they have raped and pillaged MORE NATIONS than any other continent!. Its a fact!. Was slavery ANYWHERE saying the folks doing it (ALL OVER THE WORLD FOR CENTURIES) were lazy!? Even the Vikings held slaves, the moors held slaves, the africans that sold people to the slave dealers who shipped them to the Americas also held some for themselves, all over the world fellas, for far longer than anyone historically came to the North American continent since those peoples who became referred to as "Native Americans" arrived, people have had slaves - it is a popular corruption enjoyed worldwide!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Slavery in the New World was to provide labor for mostly large-scale plantations!. Actually the amount that went to the American Colonies/US was small compared to Brazil and the Caribbean!. It was the only way for the colonial powers to develop large amounts of sugar, rubber, cotton and other crops!. Who was lazy!? The Africans!? They were enslaved! The Europeans would not be able to have had enough people to work the fields, and Africans were seen as inferior (at the time), uncivilized and able to do nothing but manual labor!. Greedy more than lazy!.They could build profits faster!.The cotton gin would have ended slavery without the war(really not to end slavery, but to prevent the South from succeeding from the Union)!.This machine did the work of tens of slaves without the need to house and fed the slaves!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In a way but it was needed to build Europe back up from its devastation left from the outbreak of Plague and also to build the Americas which would feed Europe back all in time was Africa path to what it is today

It was the only way to keep the price of sugar and cotton down!. Sugar was energy for workers and Cotton was what they used to make textiles!. By using slave labor you dramatically cut your overhead cost to run big plantations as well as doing jobs nobody else will do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not lazy- CHEAP!. Instead of paying someone to do the work, it was cheaper to buy a slave!.
