Question: When Switzerland proclaimed neutrality, did all the other nations immediately agree never to attack it!?
This seems like a nice deal!. Why don't other countries do that!? Wouldn't it be nice to be guaranteed that no other nation will ever attack you!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

In 1815 the Congress of Vienna fully re-established Swiss independence and the European powers agreed to permanently recognise Swiss neutrality!. The treaty marked the last time that Switzerland fought in an international conflict!. The treaty also allowed Switzerland to increase its territory, with the admission of the cantons of Valais, Neuchatel and Geneva – this was also the last time Switzerland's territory expanded!.

As to your question why other nations do not follow Switzerland, that is a good question I doubt anyone has an answer to that!. Or lets say a simple answer :)

no they took years to from and broker a deal, but still a guarantee is nothing!. The main reason no one attack switzerland is becasue there is nothing to tak from it, it is also basicaly a large bank and a lot of companies are registered here due to low taxes!. So anyone attacking switzerland will be foolish to do so, since they probabaly have a bank account here and the swiss will just deny the release of money!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

no, i don't think the Nazi's would not invade just because switzerland said they didn't want to be involved, but because they were surrounded by mountains this meant that it was hard to attack!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
