Don M - other than the ability to copy and paste without citing sources, asking a question on YA is not that much different from looking it up on Wikipedia or reading it in a text book!.!.!.just a little faster and you still have to guess at who is giving you the right answer!.

Anyway, prior to the development of sedentary agriculture humans were forced to lead a nomadic life following the migration of animals they hunted and the availability of other foods they would eat!. This would force them to work in smaller, likely family-based groups as large groups could not migrate together and they would exhaust food supplies!.

However, with the development of sedentary agriculture, humans no longer needed to migrate and they could settle in one place!. This also allowed the development of larger communities all working together, and for the first time, allowed people to assume roles according to their skills!. This lead to the development of many different things, perhaps most notably arts and many other occupations not directly tied to gathering food - construction, administration, trade, etc!.
