Question: Did you ever notice that when a certain group cannot answer a question that its said to be a false premise!?
And so it goes that if your question is not in harmony with their doctrines that it is a false premise and or a red herring or something that berates the question or questioner themselves!.No mentioning names please just let me know if you have experienced this from one certain group or not!. ThanksWww@QuestionHome@Com

Historically, I have found this to be true, especially with a religious group with which I was once affiliated!. Ironically, it is THEIR use of generalizations, false premises, and red herrings which caused me to be out of harmony with their doctrines in the first place! When a question arises that they cannot answer or that if they answer honestly will expose their doctrine as false, they usually pick at the asker to discredit them or try to redirect attention away from the facts presented in the question!. The bottom line is that they have cognitive dissonance and refuse to see the facts for what they are!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, this has happened to me several times with a certain religious organization here on YA!.

I used to be a (religion here) and when I first started questioning the religon here on YA, I had some of my fellow "brothers and sisters" even tell me I was not really a (religion here) and that my questions were disingenuous!.

I see this happen very often when they are asked questions, they see nothing wrong with telling everyone else they are in false religon and ask questions of others faith, yet feel it is persecution when they are questioned and told they are in false religion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have noticed the same thing!. As for moving your question, I don't think you can!. You can re-post it in the R&S section, but they'll deduct another 5 pts!. You have an option of what category you wish your question to appear in!. Yahoo will give you a couple of suggestions based on the content of your question, but you have the option of selecting another category before you submit your question!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
