Mary Tudor (Queen Mary I) was the daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon!. Catherine of Aragon was divorced from Henry and died of natural causes before Henry died!.

Mary Tudor who was a Catholic succeeded her protestant half-brother Edward (son of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour)!. She was in her late 30s or early 40s when she attained the throne and quickly married Philip II of Spain!. She tried to turn England back into a Catholic country and was known as "Bloody Mary" for the number of executions!.

Mary I died of cancer and was succeeded by the 25-year-old Elizabeth Tudor, daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn!.

She died naturally!. Fortunately, she died before having children, which kept the country from going back to Catholicism (not that Catholicism is bad, but at the time they persecuted everybody else) and allowed Mary's younger Half-sister, Elizabeth (I) to rule as a VERY good monarch, a period of glory in ENgland!.
