Adolf or Adolph ???????

Question: Adolf or Adolph !?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I have seen Hitler's name spelt in both of these ways and it would be useful to know which one it is because I'm doing history next year :-s !!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Either way is correct because the name is spelled slightly different in the english, french, german, scandinavian, and Dutch languages!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ph is Greek!. Adolf, then,but you will see the King of Sweden in the 17th C called Gustavus Adolphus, but this is a reference from Latin charters!. Oddly, the Millibands father was called Adolf, but when he came here as a refugee he changed his name to Ralph!. He, unlike his lickspittle sons, was a good socialist!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The 'ph' question is still controversial in German!. However, since Hitler was against the use of 'foreign' words in German, I'm sure he never wrote his name using 'ph'!.
One of his best efforts was 'Lichtbilderanderwandwerfer' This translates as a 'thrower of light pictures on the wall' - otherwise known as a projector, ot in German 'Projektor'!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's Adolf in German!. Adolph is a common spelling in other langauges, that's why you occasionaly see "Adolph Hitler"!.
