Question: What role did jousters have in their village!?
I have to wonder what role jousters had during the 14th, 15th, and 16th century!. If they had respect in the town - why put your life on the line to play games!? Did they have any respect!? Were they there just for fun of the possibility of seeing bloody and death!? Or did they really have respect in their village!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Jousters were nobles who did it for the honor, and even though there were rare incidences of deaths occurring, it was actually quite safe!.

It wasn't so much respect in their village as it was competing for their family name, which the family usually owned the land villages sat upon!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
