As servants, clerks, shop assistants etc!.

children in the industrial age did a lot of jobs that were unsuitable for adults- ones that needed sharp eyesight or small hands- they worked the the machinery in the factories- they would climb into the machinery and clean it!. v dangerous stuff!
the adults were also working factories (as well as maids, shop owners, artisans, etc) because that was the biggest boom in industry (pardon the pun) of that time!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
