The German A7V was abysmal!. Famous as the only German produced tank of the war!.

And - perhaps the strangest tank design ever - the Russian Tsar Tank, not sure if it saw combat though!.

Well, I believe that the most well-known tank of World War I is the Mark I tank used by the British!.

Tanks were far more common (and effective) during World War II!. Perhaps the German Panzer is the most recognizable name of tanks during the war (it was renowned for it's great speed in relation to other tanks)!. Another infamous German tank of this period was the Tiger II which was a LOT heavier than the Panzer, but also included heavier armor and armaments making it a veritable rolling artillery bastion!.

Little willy and mother ( prototype of the mark I ) : the 2 models that stood at start of the development of all the english tanks from mark I till mark IX
The whippet ( also a english model ) a faster cavalry tank designed to scout ahead of the troops after the breakthrough ( the father of all the cavalry tanks like the crusader used in the WW II )

The french tanks like the renault FT- 17 a real success model built by renault and used until in to the second WW , then there are the St Chammond and the Schneider

For the germans there was the A7V but this wasn't a great success so the germans used some of the tanks that they could capturer on there enemiesWww@QuestionHome@Com

Probably the first that the British fielded!. I think it was called the main battle tank, could be wrong!. And the French Renault that was nicknamed the Whippet!. We used that as well and George Patton commanded a unit of them!.!.!.!.!.If you mean WWII, I would say the British Churchill, American Stuart, Grant, and Sherman, Russian T-34, (quite possibly the finest overall design of WWII), and the German Panther, Tiger, and King Tiger!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do you mean WWII!? All the tanks in WWI were crap because the technology was still very new and untested!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
