Question: What does humanism have to do with Renaissance art!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Humanism was a move away from a religious view of the world, where God and the Church were the centre of the social and cultural focus, to one which saw human beings as being the agents of their own destiny and thus the focus of society and culture!. This is represented in Renaissance Art to the extent that religious themes are no longer the exclusive subject matter of art!. This does not mean that religion was absent from Renaissance Art, but it became more diverse!.

The Renaissance was a huge break from the medieval art that came before it- because of humanism!.
Medieval art focus only on religious themes, biblical scenes, and pictures of the afterlife!. But because of humanism and its focus on this life, a revolution in all areas of life (particularly art) took place (the Renaissance)!. Figures became more life like, scenes from common life were more often portrayed, and the themes portrayed became more liberal (more humanistic)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
