hello

The immense destruction wrought over the course of the war caused a sharp decline in the influence of the great powers(britain/france/germany)!. After the war, the United States both became a formidable force!. The U!.S!. suffered very little during the war and because of military and industrial exports became a formidable manufacturing power!. This led to a period of wealth and prosperity for the U!.S!. in the fields of industry, agriculture and technology!.The average worker's living standard rose considerably!. It can be said that ww2 helped the usa get over the great depression!.

One disadvantage was that the old powers were gone, and only the usa was powerful enough to counter the soviet threat, so the country went from isolationist to a world peace keeper !.!.!. and this brought along with it a financial burden

and if the war never happened !.!.!.

The US would have been forced to endure the Great Depression for far longer as there was no wartime boom to boost the economy

Germany would have remained unsplit into East and West Germany, but according to their racial policies, the Jews would still have been exterminated

the Soviet Union would not have expanded to annex various satellite nation, but also would not have lost massive economic losses so would have become a super power within a few decades

Britain would have kept its empire for several more decades,

the Cold War might never have happened, Vietnam and Korea would probably have never taken place, the nuclear bomb, the jet engine, the cruise missile, would likely have never been developed, and most importantly,

but more importantly close to 60 million people would not have lost their lives in the violenceWww@QuestionHome@Com

A lot of scientists came to the U!.S!. after the war so we gained a very large leap in scientific knowledge!. a lot of good people died during the war so who knows what those people could have accomplished!.
If the war had never happened then Germany could have been scientific giant as long as they didn't persecute the Jewish people considering that most of the scientists that came here were JewishWww@QuestionHome@Com
