Before the F&I War, the American colonies depended on England for stability!. After it was over, they had less need of a mother country to give them direction and leadership!.

Politically, there was no more French competition for control of the interior, especially the lucrative beaver fur trade, so they needed the army less!.

Socially, they were growing in self sufficiency and becoming more urbanized and cooperating in working against the French gave them a stronger sense of identity separate from England!. Teh Great Awakening intensified this sense of separate identity!.

Economically, there were American craftsmen who were restricted by British trade & commerce regulations (like the Hat Act) and American shippers (like John Hancock) who were frustrated by British regulations (like the Townsend Acts and the Tea Act) that tried to make Americans more dependent on England!.

Blah blah!. You'll have to look up specifics from your text to back this up!. Just in general as the colonies became more developed, they wanted to become more self sufficient & self governing!. The English naturally resisted this, and as the conflict got more intense the English began to interfere more in American affairs!. It was like a big showdown between an irate parent and an obstinate teenager!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Start with the social history of the colonies and compare and contrast them!. Next, compare the economics of the different colonies according to where they are located!. The Northeastern, the Middle, and the Southern colonies!. Then you can address the political aspects of all the colonies and compare how well they interacted with each other in paving the way for the American Revolution!.
