Question: Who was the last genius before Einstein!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Well, it really depends on what field you are referring to!. If you are referring to science, then I would say Nikola Tesla!. Tesla invented Alternating Current (the predominant electrical power system in the world today) as well as short-distance wireless communication (the foundations for what would become the radio) and a popular type of electromagnet!. These inventions helped to usher in the Second Industrial revolution, which in itself is directly responsible for and perhaps even the root of today's modern global economy!.

As far as other geniuses, I would argue that HG Wells qualifies as he was an acclaimed fiction writer AND a noted historian, as well as a somewhat maverick social commentator (he was a socialist who believed in the eventual coming of a "world state")!.

Lastly, I would qualify Thomas 'Stonewall' Jackson as a 19th century military genius, as his strategies allowed his typically smaller, combat inexperienced command to overcome some rather unfavorable odds (see the Battle of Chancellorsville and The (Shenandoah) Valley Campaign)!.

(NB: While I personally abhor the idea of the Confederate States of America, I will not ignore the fact that Jackson was the best strategic general on either side of the US Civil War)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

"""Niels Henrik David Bohr was born in Copenhagen on October 7, 1885, as the son of Christian Bohr, Professor of Physiology at Copenhagen University, and his wife Ellen, née Adler!. Niels, together with his younger brother Harald (the future Professor in Mathematics), grew up in an atmosphere most favourable to the development of his genius - his father was an eminent physiologist and was largely responsible for awakening his interest in physics while still at school, his mother came from a family distinguished in the field of education!.
After matriculation at the Gammelholm Grammar School in 1903, he entered Copenhagen University where he came under the guidance of Professor C!. Christiansen, a profoundly original and highly endowed physicist, and took his Master's degree in Physics in 1909 and his Doctor's degree in 1911!.--------"
