~Check into the Trans-Afghanistan Pipeline!. For background, you might want to read up on how the CIA hand-picked Saddam Hussein as a member of the hit squad organized to take out the Qassim government in Iraq in 1963, then helped him seize power a few years later!. Follow Saddam through the years and see how he became a bad guy when he decided that Iraq needed a fair price for the oil being drained out of the country by western oil companies and what we did and tried to do to him for wanting that money, just to waste it on schools, hospitals, social services, roads, power plants and silly, evil things like that!.

Then check into Operation Ajax and the CIA coup that overthrew the democratically elected reform government of the highly popular Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddeq in Iran and how CIA put the Shah back in power in Iran and then created and trained and assisted SAVAT to keep him there!. Follow that through the paybacks of Iran Revolution that put Khomeini in power!. As an aside, look into how we refused to deliver the F-14s and parts to Iran that they had paid for in advance and how we seized hundreds of billions of dollars of Iranian assets in the US and how that led to the seizure of the hostages in Iran!. Then watch how Zbigniew Brzezinski, while the hostages were being held, worked with the "Islamic Fundamentalist Militants" who held them to organize and incite the "freedom fighters" "patriots" and "nationalists" who we infiltrated into Afghanistan from CIA sponsored base camps in Pakistan (purchased at the bargain price of lifting the sanctions against Pakistan and allowing her to resume the nuclear program)!. The game plan was to cause the Kabul government to ask Moscow for help!. When the request was made and the help was sent, we called it a Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and stepped up the aid!. When the insurgents won, they became the repressive tyrants that history said they must become, and we pulled our support!. After that, our buddies were called "warlords", "terrorists" and "The Taliban"!. One of them was Osama bin Laden!.

You need the background to understand better what 9-11 was really about and why it should have been neither a shock nor a surprise!. You need it because we know the invasion of Afghanistan was about terrorism!. It was just coincidence that when the government we had helped to seize power, at a cost of billions of dollars, refused to allow construction of the pipeline, we invaded!. It was even more bizarre coincidence that when we invaded, authorization for the pipeline came instantly!. Just as it was coincidence that when our boy in Iraq threatened "our" oil supplies, we took him out too!. You might also want to check into the record poppy crops the current Afghan warlords have produced under the watchful eyes of US troops, and how heroin is becoming more readily available at a schoolyard or playground near you, and how the price is falling to where kids can afford to get hooked on their lunch money!.

It would be less work for you to research the Trans-Georgian Pipeline, Caspian oil and the US/EU efforts to take Moscow out of the loop!. The background happened during your time frame, although the consequences just started last week with another Russian "invasion"

As for Uganda, if you are referring to the assassination of President William R!. Tolbert and the chaos that followed, again look to the CIA, although the information is harder to find!. If you are referring to Joseph Kony and "The Lord's Resistance Army" I haven't found any documentation yet, but the circumstantial evidence of US/CIA involvement is compelling, particularly given US exploits in Angola and Zaire!.
