Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
~Bobby, according to his closest friends and advisers, went to his grave certain that the CIA and Joint Chiefs had a hand in it, probably with an assist from Jack's former Mafia buddies that he had double-crossed and the Cuban exiles that he had lied to and stabbed in the back!.

CIA because he JFK kept his word!. When they showed him Nixon's and Eisenhower's plan to invade Cuba, he authorized it but said he would not commit US air or naval power into the battle!. CIA neglected to tell him that their own estimates projected failure if such aid was not given and they neglected to tell him that they had irrefutable proof that the Soviets (and therefore Castro) had gotten hold of the plans, including landing sites, dates and times!. CIA blundered ahead and when things went sour, JFK refused to authorize US air and naval forces to participate!. CIA never forgave JFK for the Bay of Pigs!. Although Kennedy did authorize various assassinations of foreign leaders (such as Diem and Qassim - which latter coup allowed CIA to put Saddam Hussein in power in Iraq), he told them to stop trying to kill Castro!. The Dulles boys were really ticked at Castro for taking United Fruit Company assets and they had a ton of money UFC!. Ike let CIA topple several Central and South American governments on behalf of United Fruit and they were enraged that Kennedy wouldn't let them play!.

The Joint Chiefs over Cuba and Berlin and Turkey!. JFK caused the missile crisis when he refused to pull our missiles out of Turkey and tried to kill Castro several times and then authorized the Bay of Pigs!. When Khrushchev and Castro agreed for their mutual defense and as a ploy to get the nukes out of Turkey to install missiles in Cuba, the Joint Chiefs wanted to go to the mattresses, with nukes if necessary!. When Khrushchev agreed to withdraw his missiles from Cuba immediately if JFK pulled ours out of Turkey secretly within six months and to lay-off on Cuba and Castro, Kennedy jumped at the chance!. The Chiefs realized Khrushchev had won and they say Kennedy as a spineless, gutless wimp and they wanted him gone!. The Chiefs also wanted to roll the tanks in Germany and Berlin and to escalate in Vietnam!. After authorizing the Diem assassination on November 2, 1963, (I've always rather liked the poetic irony of the dates) JFK planned to reduce, not increase, the US presence in Nam!. The Chiefs also wanted to step up the illegal secret war we had been waging in Laos for 10 years, but Jack wouldn't sanction it!. JFK was so concerned about a military coup in Washington that he pressured John Frankenheimer to produce "Seven days in May!."

The Mafia because after they helped him steal the West Virginia primary (absolutely crucial to his nomination) and the Illinois vote in the general election (the deciding electoral votes that put him in office) and in spite of the long term business 'partnership' between the mob and Joe Kennedy, Jack let Bobby go to town on them!. Bobby's claim to fame to that point was his work for Joe McCarthy at HUAC and busting the mob and their lackey, Jimmy Hoffa, was going to be his ticket to his own White House!.

The Cuban exiles because JFK kept his word to Khrushchev and stopped trying to kill Castro and he wouldn't invade Cuba, even though he did continue to promise them he would return their homeland to them!. The exiles, Joint Chiefs, CIA and Mafia had been in bed together for years and they had the means, motives and opportunity to do the deed!. Oswald was connected to each group!. Jack Ruby, dying of cancer when he shot Oswald, had his connections, too!. Was he part of the plot to insure that Oswald wouldn't talk and that no trial would be held!?

You'll never find the truth!. Pick a theory and support it from the evidence!. It is equally probable that Oswald acted alone, even if no rational motive have ever been attributed to him!. The Warren report is so replete with error and incompetent investigation as to be wholly unreliable!. Of course, if LBJ was privy to the plan, that would make sense!. We know what an ego and ruthless megalomaniac Johnson was, and we know how much JFK and LBJ hated each other!. You decide on that one!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I doubt that you CAN answer that question! It has been debated for forty-four years, and no one can do more than argue his or her point of view!. The official position is still that Oswald acted alone, but many ballistics experts contend that the bullets were fired from a different direction, or from more than one direction!. Some writers suggest that Jack Ruby and even J!. D!. Tippett were involved with Oswald in a conspiracy!. VOLUMES have been written about the matter!. I think the best you can do is to weigh the various theories and try to evaluate them, but if you're writing anything less than a doctoral dissertation, even that's too big a job to assign a student! I am part way through a very good book on the subject!. It is called Four Days in November: The Assassination of President John F!. Kennedy, written by Vincent Bugliosi!. It runs about 1,500 pages and it has a computer disc which has all of the resources he used!. It is very thorough!. I found the book on sale for only $10!.

Bugliosi is former prosecutor who convicted Charles Manson of his followers of the Tate-LaBianca murders!. He did a wonderful job of research and presents his findings in this book!. He states he went into his research with an open mind, he wanted to know if there was a conspiracy or not!. He said he would make up his mind after viewing all the evidence he could find!.

His conclusion is that Oswald acted alone!. It is based on all the evidence and he even tracks down some of the rumors and refutes them convincingly!. Oswald could get off the 3 shots in the 8!.5 seconds he had!. Yes it takes about 3!.5 seconds to get off a shot!. What most people do is say well you can't do that, because 3 time 3!.5 is 10!.5, so not enough time, right!? But the clock doesn't start running until the first shot is fired!. So really, he had 7 seconds to get off the next 2 shots!. He had time!.

There are so many other things he shows!. Read the book, it may convince you that 1!. Oswald could have done it!. 2!. There has been no proof showing otherwise, just conjecture!. And 3!. Do you really think the massive conspiracy it would have taken to pull this off could have been kept quiet for all these years!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

You and everyone else!. No one really knows all the facts!. But there are some common facts; Oswald worked at the building that the rifle used, was found on the sixth floor!. JFK died of multiple gunshot wounds, from a 6!.5 caliber Mannlacher-Carcano rifle!. Afterward, Lee Harvey Oswald killed a police office name Tippett!., and was later arrested for the murder of Officer Tippett!. Later while hiding in a theater, Oswald tried to shoot another officer while arresting him!. He was later killed by Jack Ruby, a mafia figure and was well known to the Dallas Police!. Ruby later died in prison!.

Well no one really know for sure if it was a conspiracy or not!. If I were you, I would first state the facts of the events of that day!. Second, I would touch on perhaps one or two of the conspiracy theories!. Make sure you do your research ( wikipedia is awesome!.!.!.just don't cite it!.!.!.it kinda ticks off some teachers!.!.!.!.you can use it to educate your self on the topic)!. I would conclude with your personal opinion on the occurances of that day, and remember, there is no wrong opinion, since few people actually know the truth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That's a question that many people would like to know the answer to!. However, it will likely remain one of US history's great unsolved questions!. The reason you found different answers on different sites is because people have different opinions on the truth!. There are indeed several people who think that Oswald was part of a conspiracy, although they're divided on who was the mastermind!. I've seen people argue that the Mafia killed JFK, that it was the teamsters, that it was Castro, that it was LBJ, etc!. However, plenty of people believe that Oswald acted alone, which is the official explanation!. The idea that Oswald acted alone is the simplest explanation and, I think, the most probable, but we may never know for sure!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To decide whether or not Oswald acted alone, focus on the rifle!.Oswald used an Italian made Mannlicher-Carcano rifle!.The Warren Commission determined Oswald fired three aimed shots in six seconds!.The time is determined from the Zapruder film!.However,no marksman anywhere in the world has ever - ever been able to fire three aimed shots from that type rifle in six seconds!.Since it is therefore a physical impossibility for Oswald to have done with his rifle what better marksmen than he was has ever done,he could not have acted alone in shooting President Kennedy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Welcome to the world of unresolved historical issues--there are plenty of others!.

As you said, there are arguments on both sides!. Look at the facts and arguments for each side!. If you feel persuaded one way or the other, then you can write the essay making your case!. If you're in doubt, then write the essay explaining the points made by each side!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is no definitive answer, but a lot of speculation!. Some feel Oswald was a hired gun and that Jack Ruby killed him so he couldn't rat out the folks who hired him!. Some feel that there were people in place in the government who wanted him out of the way (my vote)!. All I can honestly tell you is that people who didn't even vote for him cried that day!. My father, a staunch Republican cried like a baby and I still can't deal with watching replays of the event!. That was the day America lost its innocence!. Good luck with your paper!. It's a difficult subject!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are some who say that he had help from the government!. There are some say that he acted alone!. Remember, JFK went back and to the left!. Back and to the left!. From where Oswald shot him from in the grassy knoll the would have went forward and to the right!. The real answer lies buried in a dead man's brain!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

As you can see, opinion is all over the place!.

You could give the conclusions of the Warren Commission, talk about conclusions others came to, and then either leave it open--
nobody knows for sure, or give your own idea with the supporting reasons!.

Good luck!.

I personally believe he did it alone!. His entire family believes he did it alone!. He was a marine sharp-shooter and was more than capable of doing it alone (no matter what Oliver Stone says)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Oswald did have help from : Charles Manson!. AKA Jesus Christ!

Trust me, the Manson/Kennedy cover up is one of the 20th centuries greatest conspiracies!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because there are so many different theories, I think you should build your essay on the premise that we don't really know!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

We really don't know for sure!. That is the truth so you could just state that!. Your teacher should believe that!. Good luck with your essay!Www@QuestionHome@Com
