There have been thousands of important inventions throughout history and around the entire globe!. I don't want to sound jingoistic, but when you consider how many really useful, innovative items, tools and fun stuff that enhance our daily lives, I think that the U!.S!. heads the list!. Some examples:

GPS, the cell phone, the airplane, the Internet, motion pictures, the bar code, the typewriter, the camera, the dishwasher, bubble gum, elevators and escalators, jeans, the zipper, lightbulbs, LEDs and LCDs, bifocal lenses, the microwave, the phonograph, nylon, the electric guitar, Post-it notes, skateboards, video games, crossword puzzles, the safety pin, the computer, the can opener, breakfast cereal, the drinking fountain, the wire coat hanger, electric and safety razors, Scotch tape and cat litter!

I think its estimated that Great Britain produced almost half of of MODERN inventions!. Including many important things e!.g!. penicillin, radar, vaccination, the engine, the world wide web etc etc

Many inventions can however be traced back to ancient civilizations, mainly the chinese!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The US, if for no other reason we had Thomas Edison and Alexander Graham Bell, also we were the first to get nuclear energy!. The bomb, not a good thing, but the energy is!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
