Some of the others were arounf too in the 30's Coca Cola has been arounf since 1892, Ginger Bear was introduced to the USA in 1790, and The famous hot dog was around in the 30's being introduced in 1870!. Lot of refreshments, time for a picnic, Coney Island anyone!?

For drinks, there was tea, coffee, home made lemonade, ginger beer and beer!.Coca cola was around but not so common!. As well as chocolate and chrisps it was the time of afternoon tea with cakes - mainly home made including scones with jam and cream!. This was for the well off!. The poorer still struggled to find adequate appetising food!. A treat would be bread with butter and jam - usually you had to have one or the other!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Cocktails were all the rage amongst the 'chattering classes', so dainty little hors d' oerves were served, like caviar with tiny biscuits!. Ice cream parlours were popular with all classes, so you went there for a lovely treat like a sundae or 'knickerbocker glory'!. we never had refreshments in my day!. Why, we were lucky if we got water each day!. In those days, you were so busy grafting from 3 in the morning till 2 the next morning you had no time for them!. Refreshments indeed!Www@QuestionHome@Com
