The answer is C!. Once the Romans conquered a city in Italy, they imposed order and, eventually, extended citizenship to them!. This began on the Italian peninsula, and became a policy as Rome conquered more and more territory!.

The practice of giving citizenship to conquered peoples was one of the ways the Romans were able to control such a large area!.

Those who had been granted citizenship would tend to discourage rebellion among those who had not been given this privilege, often being branded as, at best, collaborators by their countrymen!. They were even labeled traitors by some!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
